General information on reaction vessels

KGW-ISOTHERM manufactures around 400 different types of glass reaction vessels as standard. The reaction vessels are manufactured from 250 ml to 20 liters volume, in cylindrical or spherical shape, with flat, round or dished bottom. Laboratory flanges with an O-ring groove in accordance with DIN12214 are used as a termination. Two different valve types are available as standard, a torion-type valve (L valve) and a valve with spring pressure on the valve pin (J valve), as well as the spherical ground joint S40. All reaction vessels with a valve have no dead volume at the outlet.

Industrial valve J 10mm
The industrial valve is a dead volume-free PTFE spindle valve with an angled outlet, in which the PTFE spindle presses linearly (without rotation) into the sealing seat. A compression spring is also built into the valve body, which can be used to increase the pressure of the spindle on the valve seat, causing the spindle to adjust itself. This results in a high level of tightness even with temperature fluctuations.
Temperature range: -80°C to +200°C

Industrial valve J 20mm
The industrial valve is a dead volume-free PTFE spindle valve with an angled outlet, in which the PTFE spindle presses linearly (without rotation) into the sealing seat. A compression spring is also built into the valve body, which can be used to increase the pressure of the spindle on the valve seat, causing the spindle to adjust itself. This results in a high level of tightness even with temperature fluctuations.
Temperature range: -80°C to +200°C

Laboratory valve L
The laboratory valve is a dead volume-free PTFE spindle valve in which the spindle is pressed into the seal seat in a rotating manner. The valve has a 10mm bore.
Temperature range: -10°C to+120°C

Industrial valve J 10mm with integrated PT100
The industrial valve is a dead volume-free PTFE spindle valve with an angled outlet, in which the PTFE spindle presses linearly (without rotation) into the sealing seat. A compression spring is also built into the valve body, which can be used to increase the pressure of the spindle on the valve seat, causing the spindle to adjust itself. This results in a high level of tightness even with temperature fluctuations.
Temperature range: -80°C to +200°C
Connection: Lemo socket 0

Industrial valve J 10mm pneumatically actuated
The industrial valve is a dead volume-free PTFE spindle valve with an angled outlet, in which the PTFE spindle presses linearly (without rotation) into the sealing seat. A compression spring is also built into the valve body, which can be used to increase the pressure of the spindle on the valve seat, causing the spindle to adjust itself. This results in a high level of tightness even with temperature fluctuations.
Temperature range: -80°C to +200°C
Working pressure 2.5-3 barÜ
max overpressure 4 bar

Connection variants on the drain
Addition of a special connection to any valve variants: GL18, GL25, DN15 or DN25
Temperature range GL: -10°C to+120°C
Temperature range DN: -80°C to 200°C

Spherical ground joint S 40

According to DIN 12244 (Part 1)

Tempering jacket connection

The temperature control jacket connection is available in two versions:

Glass thread connection GL 18

for temperature range from -10°C to +120° C

DN15 glass flange

for temperature range from-120°C to +300°C

In addition to the versions listed, customized versions are possible at any time. With the help of our CAD system, we will prepare a qualified offer for you.

All reaction vessels, including the standard types, are produced to customer order. Changes to connections or flanges are therefore usually offered at no extra charge.
